FILTERS

Depth Filters

Avenue Projects offers a range of absolute and nominal rated depth filters using polypropylene, nylon 6, glass and cotton fibres. Filters can be supplied in standard format or as large diameter, high flow versions, with removal ratings ranging from 0.3 – 200 µm. Polypropylene absolute rated depth filters provide maximum efficiency and system protection in cases where the particle size distribution is wide. In areas where reliable, consistent absolute performance is required, they have consistently proven to be superior to most other cartridges available today.

Our Nominal range offers the most economical solution for challenging applications where depth filtration is required. These nominally rated polypropylene media cartridges have high void volume providing excellent life and an internal support core offering maximum rigidity. These filters are available in a range of cartridge styles and sizes.
We also offer a range of wound type filters that are manufactured from a continuous length of highquality yarn wound around a support core. The manufacturing process creates a depth filter that is inexpensive and suitable for some applications. A range of fibre materials are available including polypropylene, glass fibre and cotton.

Pleated Filters

Avenue Projects provides pleated cartridges using a range of different media types including polypropylene, glass fibre and nylon mesh with absolute removal ratings ranging from 0.3 – 400 µm. Filters can be supplied in standard format or as large diameter, high flow versions. All polypropylene filters are designed as effective prefilters to membrane filters and as final polishing filters. They are suitable for many liquid processing applications and can also be used for particulate control in air and gases. They are available in a range of absolute removal ratings and, offer excellent chemical compatibility. Cartridges can be supplied with either polypropylene or glass fibre media and with a selection of connection options so are suitable for a wide range of applications. For small flow applications or Single use applications we also have a range of “Capsule filters.

Our Highflow Filter range offers all the benefits of the above pleated filters, but in a large diameter format. This results in a cartridge with a very high surface area of media and high flow rates. They operate in filters with large diameter, high surface area cartridges offering maximum efficiency and exceptionally high flow capabilities. They operate in the ‘out to in’ and ‘in to out’ flow direction and are available in polypropylene media and with removal ratings of 0.5 – 50 µm, therefore can be used for a wide range of applications. They are also available as the ‘Crypto’ grade for removal of cryptosporidium and cysts the ‘in to out’ flow direction and are available with either polypropylene or glass fibre media. They offer minimum system footprint and enable fast cartridge changeout.

Carbon Filters

Avenue Projects supplies carbon filters containing activated carbon in a variety of formats that provide effective absorption of contaminants in a clean and easy to use format. We offer products with sintered block or rolled felt activated carbon depending on the application.  Typical applications include chlorine removal, organic removal and decolourisation. We also have cartridges designed to provide effective removal of oil and hydrocarbons from water. They provide outstanding performance offering 99% removal efficiency and each cartridge can absorb up to 300% of its weight in hydrocarbons. They can be operated at high flow rates, therefore offer a compact solution for oil removal that reduces environmental impact from spent cartridges.

Stainless Steel Filters

Where processes are most aggressive, we offer both pleated and cylindrical Mesh filters that can be used in temperatures ranging from –150ºC to +300ºC and for differential pressures up to 25 bar in the normal flow direction. All Mesh cartridges are manufactured from 316L stainless steel throughout. They are also available with optional outer guards where reverse flow or backwashing is required. The plain cylindrical design provides a simple sleeve of filter medium supported by a central core. The pleated design uses pleated media, again supported by the central support core, this time providing over twice the effective filtration area of the cylindrical cartridge.

In both designs, the construction method used is the latest, ultra clean TiG and plasma welding system. This method of construction guarantees cartridge integrity, eliminating the risk of bypass and the presence of extractables derived from any bonding agents.

Bag Filters

Our range of bag filters offer a comprehensive solution to liquid filtration requirements in a wide range of applications, including paints, printing inks, oils and coolants in metal cutting, pharmaceuticals and food processing. They are available in a variety of materials and media types to suit most processes and our range includes specialist oil absorbent bags. We supply absolute and nominal rated bag filters with removal ratings from 1 – 1000 µm and with all the major ring and plastic flange styles.

The standard bags are manufactured using needlefelt type media providing both surface and depth filtration for maximum dirt capacity. They can be supplied with either polypropylene, polyester, nylon or high temperature Nomex media. All bags are silicone free and polypropylene bags are made from FDA compliant materials.

We also have filter bags designed to provide effective oil adsorbing capacity in a wide range of applications. They are manufactured using combinations of both needlefelt and microfibre polypropylene media and provide both particulate control and economic oil removal.

Air Handling Filters

HEPA or High Efficiency Particulate Air is a type of air filter used in many applications such as medical facilities, food & beverage industries, automobiles, clean rooms etc. There are many types of air filter but to qualify as HEPA, an air filter must remove between 99.90 -99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 um from the air that passes through. HEPA filters are composed of a mat of randomly arranged fibres. The fibres are typically composed of fiberglass and possess diameters between 0.5 and 2.0 micrometers. Key factors affecting function are fibre diameter, filter thickness, and face velocity. Avenue Projects can supply “HEPA” Air Filtration application products which includes products like Bag Filters, Activated Carbon Filters, Panel Filter, Compact Filter, Frames and Housings.
